Longtime member of A&R at Mercury Records from 1968-1979, including positions as VP of Midwest A&R and VP of International A&R based in Chicago. After leaving Mercury at the end of the 1970s he worked independently as a producer and manager. McBride was musically diverse and worked in many genres including blues, soul, rock, pop and new wave.
